BE COOL! Design moon houses

Gifted pupils in primary schools mostly read textbooks or work on individual assignments. But not children participating in BE COOL!-project. Those students get to design moon houses. The project introduces a new type of learning method built on collaboration and Alieke van Dijk is there to design and research this new educational approach.

Classroom of the future opened

The Classroom of the Future in the Gallery had its kick-off lecture this morning. Students industrial engineering & management (IEM) and business & IT (BIT) were the very first to use the interactive lecture room, which is equipped with twenty giant touchscreens and a large videowall.

Teachers: maybe we're testing too much

Teachers believe that they tested a lot, maybe even too much, during the first quarter of the Twente Educational Model (TEM). That resulted in a high workload. This becomes apparent from the teachers' evaluation of the first TEM module. In general, teachers are satisfied with the start of the new educational model.

Fabienne van der Kleij: learning takes you places

Where other students can’t wait to see the day when they won’t have anything to do with tests anymore, Fabienne van der Kleij made it the topic of her PhD. Finishing 19 December, she has become an expert in how feedback in computer-based assessments can contribute to better learning results. It took her to Tel Aviv and Paris, and Brisbane awaits her.
