Vwo'ers onderzoeken 'Enschede aan zee' bij ITC

Zestien leerlingen uit de ‘vwo 3 plusklas’ van het Bonhoeffer College in Enschede werkten vandaag voor het eerst aan hun project op het ITC. Tot 23 april bezoeken ze de faculteit acht keer om mogelijke veranderingen van de zeespiegel te onderzoeken.

Promovenda meet boomdichtheid met laser

UT-promovenda Anahita Khosravipour heeft een nieuwe methode ontwikkeld om de omvang en dichtheid van bomen te meten. Vanuit een helikopter richt ze een laserstraal op een bos om gegevens te verzamelen. Dat is goedkoper en nauwkeuriger dan bestaande methoden.

Iraanse onderzoekt Enschedees fietsparkeergedrag

‘Als je voor het eerst in Nederland komt, dan verbaas je je over de hoeveelheid van overal gestalde fietsen,’ zegt Maryam Monirifar, zelf afkomstig uit Iran. Met name de problemen rond station Enschede en in de binnenstad vielen haar op. ‘Toen we zes maanden geleden moesten bedenken waar we onderzoek naar wilden doen, dacht ik daar direct aan.’

ITC naar de campus

Zowel de Horst als de Technohal - het voormalige AKI-gebouw - zijn in beeld als toekomstig onderkomen voor de faculteit ITC. Momenteel voert het Facilitair Bedrijf een haalbaarheidsstudie uit naar de huisvesting van de 180 medewerkers en 400 studenten van het ITC op de campus. Wanneer de verhuizing in gang wordt gezet is onbekend.

ITC opens Academic Year

As the Procession of the Cortege filed into the Old Market Church, the sun broke through the clouds and greeted their smiling faces. The vast array of new students arose to greet the Professors as they marched through to the front of the Hall in this very formal yet informative ceremony. Students adjusted their brightly colored scarves, tunics, robes and suits as opening statements were made.

Faculteit ITC verdubbelt collegegeld

De opleidingen van de faculteit ITC worden twee keer zo duur. Per 1 januari moet je ineens bijna 20 duizend euro neertellen voor een anderhalfjarige opleiding. Tot nu toe betaalden studenten daarvoor 9500 euro. De prijzen worden verhoogd om in de pas te lopen met de rest van de UT.
