More and more UT scientists stand up in the face of climate crisis

Talking at the executive table or fulminating on top of the soapbox. Although the form varies, more and more UT scientists are speaking out more actively and in a more activist way on climate issues. Five of them talk about their motivations, concerns, dogmatism, and systemic change. 'Sitting in the ivory tower no longer suits us.'

Climate activists disrupt Shell excursion study association

This morning, climate activists blocked vans behind the Horst with which student association Isaac Newton were to go on an excursion to a Shell refinery. After half an hour the demonstration organized by University Rebellion, Scientist Rebellion and Extinction Rebellion came to an end.

The fake email that was sent to a large group of employees and students on Wednesday morning originates from University Rebellion Twente, a climate rebel club active at UT. The action group informed U-Today of this by email.

UT rejects fake email about climate emergency

A large group of employees and students received an email Wednesday morning in which the UT immediately declares a 'climate emergency'. The Executive Board warns that the message is fake. It is not yet clear from whom the email originated.
