'We moeten zorg dragen voor elkaar'

Het zou een liefdesverhaal kunnen zijn uit een bouquetreeks: mooie Mexicaanse valt voor knappe Hollander. Zij verlaat huis en haard voor de liefde in een onbekend koud kikkerlandje. Het overkwam Laura Franco Garcia (48), hoofddocent bij de vakgroep Governance and Technology for Sustainable Development (CSTM). Tien jaar later is ze nog steeds zielsgelukkig met haar echtgenoot. ‘In Mexico zou ik mij niet meer thuis voelen.’

Free lunch made out of waste food

'We want to show that sustainability is about much more than just hugging trees or using solar panels. It´s about helping each other,' say UT students Bas Coenen and Lisanne de Weert. To do that, they decided to organize a 'Sustainable Inspiration' event, which will also include a - sustainable - free lunch made out of waste food, donated by a local supermarket.

UT scores poorly in the annual SustainaBul

For the third time in a row, Wageningen University was chosen as the most sustainable institute of higher learning in the Netherlands. Of the 21 participating institutions, UT ended up next to last. Kitty Nijmeijer's Blue Energy project was, however, nominated as the ‘most iconic project’.
