The University Council voiced its concerns about the lack of recorded physical lectures. The Executive Board however does not want a central policy, stating that providing sufficient digital alternatives is up to the study programmes themselves.

No guarantee ventilation issues won’t come up again

The Sports Centre recently announced a partial closure due to insufficient ventilation. ‘Why wasn’t this known earlier?’ asked the University Council at today’s meeting with the Executive Board. According to Mirjam Bult, issues with air circulation remain in the Sports Centre, Vrijhof and on the 5th floor of Carré, but are all being resolved.

Path cleared for proctoring ‘as last resort’

Both the Executive Board and the University Council agreed this morning that proctoring software can be a ‘last resort’ option, should the crisis take a turn for the worse. Preparations are being made for the use of the software in the second quartile.

Peer groups to ensure corona measures on campus

To make sure that everyone on campus complies with corona measures, the UT will introduce a ‘peer way’ of working. Appointed students will keep track of fellow students’ behavior. Teachers will address teachers’ behavior. This was announced by the Executive Board during the University Council meeting in the Horst today.

The results from the university council elections are in. UReka secured five seats, DAS three and new party uTOP will have one seat on the council. The other new party, Genesis, collected too few votes to secure a seat.

New party Genesis running for university council

Genesis is the name of a second new student party, running for university council. The party was founded by ITC students Michael David and Paul Ojukwu, who will be the party’s candidates for the election in two weeks. Last week it was also announced that uTOP is participating as a new party.
