The Philips Innovation Award (PHIA) is the largest student-entrepreneur award in the Netherlands. The PHIA enables young entrepreneurs to develop their idea and transform it into a successful start-up. Our mission is to stimulate and activate an innovative entrepreneurial culture among students. The Philips Innovation Award is an independent non-profit organization that works in close cooperation with Philips.
We do not believe in a ‘winner takes it all’-principle
By participating you receive personal feedback, coaching and the opportunity practice important skills. We offer support and guidance throughout the entire process, consisting of the idea stage, developing stage, refining stage and finale stage. Participants are also granted access to our extensive network of partners from different industries.
From idea to business plan
During the idea stage you can submit your executive summary on which you will receive feedback by our consulting partner, De Kleine Consultant. The developing stage is there to help you convert your idea into a business plan. Signing up and handing in your idea will be completely confidential, as all parties involved have signed NDA’s.
A selection of the best ideas will be taken into the refining stage leading to the semi-final. During the grand final you might win the big price consisting of cash money, services like coaching, consultancy, legal advice, accountancy and additional services from our top of the class partners. This will kickstart your idea towards your dream business. During the final stage, eight teams will be selected for the Grand final. The two winning teams will be granted a price worth €50.000 and €10.000!

The deadline for participation in the idea stage is 1st of December 2019. The deadline for the participation in the developing stage is the 12th of January. Be aware that a business plan is required at this point.
