Het sportcentrum op de campus experimenteert tussen 19 november en 2 februari met een zelfverdedigingscursus voor alleen vrouwen. Vrouwen kunnen dan sporten zonder de aanwezigheid van mannen. ‘Het project duurt acht weken en bij succes hopen we op uitbreiding’, zegt initiatiefnemer Islam Bouzguenda.

UT Sports Centre organises self-defence course for women

The sports center is experimenting with a women-only self-defense course between Nov. 19 and Feb. 2. Women can then exercise without the presence of men. 'The project will last eight weeks and if successful, we hope to expand,' says initiator Islam Bouzguenda.

Onvoldoende ventilatie in fitnessruimte UT

De fitnessruimte in het Sportcentrum is per direct voor onbepaalde tijd gesloten. De zaal blijkt na verschillende tests niet te voldoen aan UT-eisen voor luchtcirculatie en ventilatie. Eerder werden al drie sporthallen in het Sportcentrum tot nader order gesloten.

Insufficient ventilation in UT gym

The fitness room in the Sports Center is immediately closed for an unspecified period of time. After several tests, the gym proves not to meet UT requirements for air circulation and ventilation. Earlier, three sports halls in the Sports Center were closed until further notice.
