Molière

Paris, 17th February 1673. The French playwright and actor Molière (Jean-Baptiste Poquelin), is playing the leading role in his own play `Le Malade Imaginaire.' Obstinate coughing fits plague him as the audience's mood swings from amusement to shock. A few hours later, Molière dies at home.

For Stuffed Puppet Theater, the actor's death is the start of a new play. A play about his life and works, the commedia dell'arte he stole from, his position in relationship to the Royal court, and of course about love, death and other eternal inconveniences.

Puppet theater for adults, in English.
