The Entrepreneurial Day 2019 aims to ‘celebrate the entrepreneurial mindset’ at the UT. The event’s morning schedule will belong to prospective student entrepreneurs, who will battle it out in the semi-finals of the UT Entrepreneurial Challenge. The competition’s grand finale will be part of the afternoon programme in the Waaier.
This year’s Innovation Lecture will be given by Guido Berben, who is one of the people behind the popular app Tikkie used for online payments. Guido Berben is Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Tikkie and is collaborating with business partners on how Tikkie can be used for business purposes.
As is traditional, a couple of prizes will be awarded during the Entrepreneurial Day. Firstly, the Marina van Damme Scholarship for a successful UT alumna. The winner receives €9,000 to be spent on the further development of her career. The Van den Kroonenberg Prize is also presented at the event. This prize for young entrepreneurs connected to the UT consists of € 4,500 and an artwork created by Mohana van den Kroonenberg. Last but not least, visitors can look forward to a live music performance by fingerstyle guitar player Mart Hillen.
