The opening meeting of the Master Open Day in the Waaier was just interrupted and the organisation asked the participants to leave the venue immediately. The reason is the announced ban on events with more than a hundred people, effective at least until the end of this month.
The government decision also means that the Bachelor Open Days of Friday and Saturday will be cancelled.
Dutch universities are not closing as of yet, said Prime Minister Mark Rutte. He did, however, give ‘urgent advice’ to offer lectures online. ‘For higher education institutions, large-scale lectures must be offered online, that is our urgent advice. We will not close other schools either, it will not contribute to fighting the crisis.’
Update (5:29 PM): all scheduled tests for Friday March 13 will be canceled.
