Boosting the blue economy

When Salman Shahzad arrived to the University of Twente in 2017, it was his first trip abroad from his home country of Pakistan. A year later, he acquired a Master’s degree in Energy and Environment Management and began searching for opportunities in the field of social entrepreneurship. As a non-European, he struggled to find a job and decided to start his own company. Now he is a project manager of In-No-Plastic, a large EU funded project focused on the removal of marine plastics and litter.
