The event is showcasing seventy different companies – both local and international – seeking to enhance their talent pool with the brilliant young minds the UT has to offer.

The Bedrijvendagen Career Fair is an annual event organized to help UT students and graduates get a steady foot in the corporate world. It features a total of 140 companies across two days, including Company Presentations, CV and LinkedIn workshops, and even a drone flying competition by Shell. As this is a wonderful opportunity for students to begin taking steps towards their future, we at UT Nieuws asked some students themselves what they thought of the Career Day.

Many companies in one place

‘It’s wonderful to have so many companies in one place, it makes it so much easier to contact future employers and network with them,’ says Anna Brand, Master student of Chemical Engineering from The Netherlands. ‘I am finishing my Master’s degree in the end of 2017, so it’s time for me to start thinking of job opportunities.’

‘The event is exceeding my expectations,” says Maurice te Spenk, ‘especially the free food and drinks! The only problem is that almost all companies here are searching for engineers and students from technical courses. I am doing my Master in Financial Management, so it would be nice to see a few banks in here, or some other employers who are hiring in the business sector.’

Face to face

‘The best part of the event is that you get to talk to company representatives face-to-face. It makes it so much easier to find a position in a company that really suits you,’ comments Ameya Umrani from India. ‘I am currently looking for an internship in my area of study, electrical engineering. Although I could go anywhere in Europe through my Schengen Visa, I prefer to find an internship in The Netherlands because there is no language barrier here – everyone speaks English. And this Career Fair is helping me do just that.’

Tomorrow is the second day of the Career Fair, where you will have a chance to meet seventy other companies. Check it out and discover the bright future ahead of you!
