Twintig consolidator grants naar Nederland, ook beurs voor UT'er

Twenty consolidator grants for the Netherlands, one for UT scientist

The European Research Council (ERC) has awarded 20 consolidator grants to experienced researchers in the Netherlands. While this is still a good score, the number is lower than in the previous three years. UT professor Wiebe de Vos is one of the grant recipients this year.

ERC Proof of Concept grants for five UT scientists

The European Research Council (ERC) has awarded its Proof of Concept grants, worth €150,000 each, to five scientists from the University of Twente. The funding goes to David Fernandez Rivas, Jeroen Rouwkema, Stefano Stramigioli, Ivo Vellekoop and Wiebe de Vos.

Plastic membranes to make drinking water – and more

‘Plastic is known to pollute our oceans and water, but in in this case it is used to clean water. I think that’s great!’ says Wiebe de Vos. Together with his colleagues Saskia Lindhoud and Ameya Krishna, the UT membrane scientist developed a sustainable and easy way to produce a membrane based on a novel plastic. It’s use is versatile, and making drinking water is just one of the many possible options.

Starting grant voor twee jonge UT-wetenschappers

De twee jonge UT-onderzoekers Annalisa Pelizza en Wiebe de Vos krijgen een Europese onderzoeksbeurs. Nederland ontving dit jaar 29 Europese onderzoeksbeurzen voor jonge wetenschappers, drie minder dan vorig jaar.
