Roy Spit new CEO of Novel-T

Roy Spit (50) will be the new CEO of the Novel-T foundation and director of University of Twente Holding (UTH). On 1 May, he will succeed Bas Kerkwijk, who stepped down as director last September.

Spit now works at the Qredits foundation as a director. He already knows his way around the University of Twente, as he was involved in UT’s current Tijdelijke OndernemersPlaatsen (TOP) scheme on behalf of Qredits, intended for starting entrepreneurs.

Novel-T was co-founded by the University of Twente in 2007 with the aim of accelerating innovation. Qredits and Novel-T are similar. They help starting entrepreneurs through financing and coaching.

Spit brings the necessary experience and an extensive network in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, both nationally and internationally, to his new job at Novel-T and the UTH.

De TOP-regeling, ofwel de Tijdelijke Ondernemersplaatsen, bestaat veertig jaar. Uitvoerder Novel-T ontvangt jaarlijks zo’n acht aanvragen voor de financiële ondersteuning bedoeld voor startende ondernemers. UT-alumnus Lars Pieké kreeg er in de jaren tachtig ook eentje. Tegenwoordig zit hij zelf in de TOP-beoordelingscommissie.

The TOP loan, or the Temporary Entrepreneurial Posts, is celebrating its fortieth anniversary. Contractor Novel-T receives about eight applications annually for financial support intended for starting entrepreneurs. UT alumnus Lars Pieké got one in the eighties. Nowadays, he is a member of the TOP commission himself.
