Solar Challenge Morocco gaat ondanks reisbeperkingen door

De Solar Challenge Morocco gaat maandag gewoon van start in Agadir. De wedstrijd, waar het Solar Team Twente aan deelneemt, leek door een besluit van de Marokkaanse overheid op losse schroeven te staan. Meerdere vliegmaatschappijen voeren namelijk geen vluchten meer uit van en naar Marokko.

In memoriam: Odette Scheer

Oog voor detail, van jongs af aan verbonden aan het horecavak en de gast altijd op de eerste plaats. Verdeeld over twee periodes werkte Odette Scheer vanaf 1987 op de campus in Conferentiehotel Drienerburght en het U Parkhotel. Zondag overleed ze onverwacht op 56-jarige leeftijd. ‘De gastvrijheid zat in haar genen.’

Op het Kennisparkcomplex van UT-spin-off Demcon, waar de alumna sinds haar stage nooit meer is weggegaan, heeft ze nog dagelijks uitzicht op haar alma mater. ‘In Twente heb ik me nooit een nummer gevoeld.’
