Why did you choose Twente?
'The technical aspect of the university appealed to me immediately, as did the study programme. The campus is big and I immediately got positive vibes. I never really doubted it.'
Already found a place to live?
'I think I was very lucky, if I read the reactions on Facebook from EU students looking for accommodation. A Bulgarian student recently left his room and I could take over his space. I am very happy about that. My flat is close to the campus.'
What do you expect from your time as a student?
'I mainly hope for a personal study. By this I mean that I hope to do as little as possible online. Lots of interaction with students and lecturers and as much conversation with people as possible.'
Are you going to join an association?
'Not yet. I hope to find something nice during the Kick-In and I'm sure I will. Climbing club TSAC seems cool to me. When I saw the climbing wall on the campus, I was shocked. With my fear of heights, reaching the top of that wall is a bit much for me, but half of it seems like a nice goal.'
Have you been vaccinated?
'Yes, quite a long time ago. In April I could get my vaccination in Bulgaria and I did.'
What is your first impression?
'I was noticed how beautifully green it is here. I really appreciate that. The people are very nice and everyone helps you when needed. That gives me a good feeling.'
What are you going to do in your first months here anyway?
'It seems good to me to concentrate on studying in the first few months. The first year is the most important and I don't want to spoil it. In the first weeks I will think about what I want to do next.'
What are you not looking forward to?
'To be honest, nothing. Everything seems fine here, nothing negative.'
