Photo report: a soapbox race to celebrate 25 years of Student Union

To celebrate their fifth lustrum, the Student Union hosted a soapbox race at the UTrack. About twenty teams participated, with prizes for the fastest and most beautiful self-made vehicles. A photo report.

Als het aan de Student Union ligt, wordt het begrip ‘activisme’ niet meer in de mond genomen. Bij de organisatie maakt het woord plaats voor de termen ‘actief zijn’ en ‘engagement’. Volgens de Student Union roept ‘activisme’ verkeerde associaties op.

Create Tomorrow gaat opnieuw niet door

Het is opnieuw niet gelukt een organisatiecommissie te vinden voor Create Tomorrow. De grootschalige studentendenktank gaat daarom ook dit academisch jaar niet door. De Student Union is ondertussen bezig met een vernieuwde opzet voor het evenement.

Once again, an organising committee for Create Tomorrow has not been found. The large-scale student think tank will therefore not take place this academic year. In the meantime, the Student Union is working on a new set-up for the event.

Think tank to boost engagement: from ‘mini-traineeship’ to free coffee

In an attempt to understand and address the declining student activism at the UT, the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) and the Student Union (SU) organised an interactive think tank session in the DesignLab on Tuesday evening. ‘The benefits of engagement should be highlighted more prominently.’
