In een week vol klimaatprotest hebben activisten van Fossielvrij NL woensdag ook nog een petitie online gezet. De motieven van bedrijven in de fossiele energiesector zouden in strijd zijn met de waarden van de academische gemeenschap. Initiatiefnemer is Guus Dix, universitair docent aan de UT.

In a week of climate protests, activists from Fossielvrij NL posted an online petition on Wednesday. They claim that the motives of companies in the fossil fuel sector run counter to the values of the academic community. The initiator of the petition is Guus Dix, assistant professor at the UT.

CvB over klimaatacties: ‘Liever in dialoog dan banden verbreken met fossiele industrie’

Klimaatactivisten intensiveren hun acties en gaan steeds verder in hun protest. Ook op de UT roeren studenten en wetenschappers zich meer en meer, met blokkades en eisen om de banden met de fossiele industrie te verbreken. Een eis die volgens Machteld Roos, vicevoorzitter van het college van bestuur, niet ingewilligd gaat worden.
