The award serves as a recognition to institutions that have made progress in aligning their human resource policies with the principles set out in the European Commission’s ‘Charter & Code’. This Charter consists of forty principles on ethical and professional issues, recruitment, employment conditions and social security and development.
The UT’s policy has been tested against these principles and the UT should now take action to further improve. Specifically, the university should work on the uniformisation of the application procedure, improving the quality of the selection committee and increasing the number of female professors. The UT will carry out a self-assessment after two years and after five years the European Commission will visit the UT to see if all improvements have been implemented.
