Assembly: what will UT community do in the face of budget cuts?

| Redactie

Under the banner of action group 'Twente for Protest', there will be an assembly in the Ravelijn next Thursday. Topic of discussion: what are the next actions to demonstrate against the planned government cuts?

Archive U-Today: at the protest march last November on campus.

Organisers of the meeting call it a ‘crucial discussion about the deeply concerning budget cuts we are facing’. The current cabinet is still planning to cut roughly 1.3 billion euros in education. Several unions recently decided to hold a so-called 'relay strike'.

On the one hand, the meeting of the Twente for Protest group is about informing students and staff about their rights. On the other hand, it is a discussion meeting: will UT people take to the streets again like last November on campus and two weeks later in The Hague? And what about the willingness to strike at the UT?

The meeting will take place on Thursday 23 January, at 12.30 pm in lecture hall Ravelijn 1501.
