Vanuit Enschede fiets ik de campus op door het Pinetum. Een van mijn meest favoriete plekken: een glooiend landschap met een verzameling coniferen uit alle continenten en een slingerend fietspad dat van de drukke Hengelosestraat naar het autoluwe terrein van de uni voert. Een krachtige lentezon maakt het gras felgroen. En opeens denk ik aan Po, Laa-laa, Dipsy en Tinky Winky.

I’m cycling from Enschede towards campus through the Pinetum. One of my all-time favourite places: a rolling landscape with a collection of conifers from all continents and a winding bike path that leads from the busy Hengelosestraat to the university’s almost car-free grounds. A powerful spring sun colours the grass bright green. And suddenly, Po, Laa-laa, Dipsy and Tinky Winky come to mind. The Teletubbies.

Het studierendement is het enige voordeel dat het bindend studieadvies (bsa) biedt, zo stelt studentenvakbond ASVA in een recent opiniestuk. De studentengeleding van de universiteitsraad van de UT kan zich hier absoluut niet in vinden. Met de recente kamerbrief over het onderwerp, waarin de minister aankondigde dat het bsa maximaal 30 ECTS in jaar één moet worden en maximaal 60 ECTS in jaar twee, deelt de studentengeleding van de universiteitsraad haar kijk op de zaak.

OpinionStudent delegation UT: the BSA definitely has its good sides
‘Study efficiency is the only advantage the binding study advice (BSA) offers’, states student union ASVA in a recent opinion piece. The student delegation of the University of Twente's (UT) University Council absolutely disagrees. With the recent parliamentary letter on the subject, in which the Minister announced that the BSA should be a maximum of 30 ECTS in year one and a maximum of 60 ECTS in year two, the UT’s student delegation shares its perspective on the matter.
