NewsUT lecturers Janneke Alers, Jasper de Jong and Tom van Dijk are in the finals of the UT Education Award. On Thursday afternoon, May 22, in the Amphitheater, it will be announced who may call themselves 'teacher of the year'.
SpotlightErik Horstman, universitair hoofddocent bij civiele techniek, won recent de Centrale Onderwijsprijs. Hij is trots en blij, maar blijft daar zeker niet in hangen. Horstman heeft een missie. ‘Een universiteit is er voor het onderwijs.’

SpotlightDe Finse Heidi Toivonen (39) won in juni de titel ‘docent van het jaar’. En dat terwijl de van oorsprong klinisch psycholoog pas twee jaar geleden begon met lesgeven. ‘Ik wil echt contact maken met studenten en luisteren naar hun behoeften.’
SpotlightLast June, Finnish assistant professor Heidi Toivonen (39) won the title ‘Teacher of the Year’. Originally a clinical psychologist, Heidi only started teaching two years ago, so this is quite a feat. ‘I want to connect with students and listen to their needs.’
This is the sixth edition of ECIU University Magazine. The ECIU University is a massive joint effort of the ECIU member universities and their regional partners. More than a few hundreds of staff members at the member universities and in the regions are collaborating to making the ECIU University a reality. This magazine showcases several activities of ECIU University and the opportunities to engage with the European University.
